“Anachronism” adalah full-length album ke-tiga dari CONTROL-Z. Proses produksi dimulai sejak tahun 2012 awal sampai tahun 2013. Semua rekaman dilakukan dengan teknik improvisasi dalam bentuk terbuka, mengedepankan moment kebetulan dalam ketentuan konsep masing-masing komposisi. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menimbulkan situasi acak, tanpa ada pengulangan materi yang identik secara detil, baik tekstur atau bentuk secara keseluruhan. Seperti penempatan nomor kejadian yang tidak pada tempatnya, memunculkan serentetan khayalan mimpi tanpa alur, dan tidak dapat diduga arahnya. Ya, inilah mimpi buruk. Saat tertidur ataupun dalam realita.

Semua track berdiri dengan konsepnya sendiri. Karakteristik sound dan atmosphere yang dihasilkan dari setiap track pun berbeda-beda, dikarenakan penggunakan tools dan proses eksekusi yang juga berbeda. Namun, tetap dalam benang merah yang sama, yakni “improvisasi” dan “sound-collage”. Baik dalam bentuk sample, sound-programming, rekaman langsung (studio), termasuk rekaman dalam kategori musik concrete.

Kompleksitas menjadi tema besar dalam keseluruhan tracks, baik secara musikal, juga latar belakang proses penggarapannya. Apa yang terekam dan terdengar adalah hasil implementasi dari pengalaman bawah sadar yang menjadi pemicu utama kemunculan setiap bunyi yang kemudian terekam dan tersusun di antara ruang hening yang semakin bising. Pertengahan 2011 CONTROL-Z bersama dengan +CROSS+ membuat sebuah track kolaborasi secara online, kemudian di akhir tahun 2012 berhasil menyelesaikan 1 track kolaborasi dalam studio, kemudian kedua tracks ini terangkum dalam sebuah mini album. Karena alasan waktu, penggarapan kedua tracks ini dilakukan saat malam hari  maka project ini kami beri title "The Nighthawk". Mini album ini dirilis secara mandiri (self-released) awal Desember  2012 dalam format digital. Dapat diunduh secara legal dan gratis.

Track pertama [Night One, 2011] lebih menekankan pada pola kerja kolektif secara online, masing-masing diberi kebebasan mutlak untuk mengeksekusi track ini. Track ini dibangun dari sample yg dibuat oleh +CROSS+, selanjutnya disusupi berbagai layer-texture frekuensi secara semena-mena oleh CONTROL-Z.

Track kedua [Night Two, 2012] didisain sebagai instalasi pada sebuah ruang pamer. Karya ini digarap selama 3 pekan, identik dengan musik film berdurasi 18’08” menit. Track ini digarap bersama di studio pink(n)/yk. Eksplorasi terasa lebih hidup karena dialog yang berujung pada banyak revisi sampai akhirnya dirasa selesai.

Karakter sound pada kedua tracks cukup berbeda, mengingat jarak waktu dan penggunaan devices. Namun demikian tetap terkonsep dalam ruang kerja kolektif dengan tujuan pembebasan. Pembuatan dan penggunaan sample(s) banyak dilakukan oleh +CROSS+, sedangkan CONTROL-Z lebih pada tindakan manipulasi bunyi, penataan sound-fx dan programming.

LISTRIK: is CONTROL-Z’s debut album, after previously released EP and single for compilation. The tracks on this album were done in the year of 2009-2010. It contains 13 tracks recorded in room and 2 live-performance tracks. A very raw debut marked by a naive title and anti-exclusivity. Physically released in 2010 under Sodoma Records, and has been distributed in Japan and Indonesia.

In this album, it could be found very individual musical style from a project called CONTROL-Z. The tracks sound like spontaneous, harsh, monotonous and full of improvisational composition. The digital elements blend perfectly with analog sounds plus with the touch of intense noisy texture and incidentally shocks make every composition in each track has distinctive tension in a harsh-recorded album. Wildly conceptualized to mend one’s hearing and try to oppose exclusivity of the previous mainstream music. This album offers new perspective and should be listened in different sense. Probably, this is what happening nowadays and next in the future.
